The Ardre drop-leaf table is more than just furniture — it’s the beginning of G.A.D’s entire history. Designed by our founder Kristian in the limestone farm of Ardre on Gotland, it remains one of the most beloved and iconic pieces in our collection. With its clever functionality and exquisite balance between lightness and stability, it has become a benchmark — widely regarded as the most beautiful drop-leaf table on the market.
The table features two folding leaves, making it extremely flexible. Even with the leaves down, there’s space for chairs — a thoughtful detail that keeps the table practical without compromising elegance. It fits perfectly in both modern homes and classic environments, just as it did in the Gotland limestone farm where it was first born.
When the Ardre table was first made, it was crafted from solid Gotland heartwood — beautiful but heavy. Today, the table is made from dense-grown pine, birch, or oak, with every piece of wood selected with the utmost care. For the pine tables, only wood from the north side of the tree is used, where the fibers are denser and more beautiful. The result is a lighter yet equally durable table, perfectly suited for everyday use.
