Fole is more than just an armchair — it is an expression of G.A.D’s view of furniture craftsmanship as both an artistic and responsible profession. Here, form and function unite in quiet harmony, where every line and joint is created with thoughtfulness and respect for the material.

Each chair is handcrafted from solid oak or birch, carefully selected from sustainable forests. The living wood, with its unique grain and color variations from chair to chair, reflects nature’s own design — unpredictable, yet always beautiful.
Fole is just as at home in a modern setting as it is in a timeless environment. It fits perfectly around the dining table, in the study, or as a solitary piece in the hallway — standing as a quiet reminder that simplicity is often the most enduring.
The sweeping backrest and generously scooped armrests invite the body to rest. The seat is gently padded and upholstered in natural materials: 100% merino wool, chromium-free leather from Swedish Elmo, or vegetable-tanned natural leather from Tärnsjö Garveri — a leather that develops a personal patina over time, telling the story of how the chair has been lived with and used. Visible tenons, joints, and wooden dowels are not only functional — they are also a deliberate aesthetic choice, a way to show that this chair carries its construction with pride. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship.

G.A.D was founded in 1997 as a reaction against the growing trend of mass production. Our founder, Kristian Eriksson, was a creative and artistic designer who sought what he called 'genuine furniture' – furniture of the highest quality, handcrafted from solid natural materials.
